We are the cast iron certainties Who'll wreck your plans We are the marching thousands With hoisted flags Stop where you are And we'll hide around every corner Just so you know We are the undercurrents Rushing through the sea We are the nation's conscience Scaling effigies Stop where you are And we'll hide around every corner Just so you know
2.
This house, this house Could fill my lungs with lies And I'm scared of the walls And everything they hide We're getting better We're getting better We're getting better And we want you to know We're getting better We're getting better We're getting better And we want you to know That we love you Maybe it's your footsteps Maybe it's his heartbeats Maybe it's your footsteps Well I can feel them all Maybe when you get home Maybe when you get home Maybe when you get home Well I can feel them all When we're in love My hands and my head Are not connected up Stop me, stop me If we're fucking all this up We're getting better We're getting better We're getting better And we want you to know We're getting better We're getting better We're getting better And we want you to know That we love you Maybe it's your footsteps Maybe it's his heartbeats Maybe it's your footsteps Well I can feel them all Maybe when you get home Maybe when you get home Maybe when you get home Well I can feel them all When we're in love

Stop this 'Cause you're stressing me out My mind works Far too fast I should trust you Well I've never fucked up And I'm just Hurting me Are you hell bent? I never said I am So why so serious? Stop That's your answer always What to walk behind your lines? Are you holy? Only when I'm at home So when It suits you best Are you hell bent? I never said I am So why so serious? If this is our life Then we should make the most of what we have Don't want to waste my life On chasing silver screen in Cannes I could be famous if I really really wanted to But I would just rather spend my life And it's all in your head And it's more than you'd care to think about You're no use to me dead I need you by my side and stuck to me Stop this 'Cause you're stressing me out My mind works Far too fast I should trust you Well I've never fucked up And I'm just Hurting me Are you hell bent? I never said I am So why so serious? If this is our life Then we should make the most of what we have Don't want to waste my life On chasing silver screen in Cannes I could be famous if I really really wanted to But I would just rather spend my life And it's all in your head And it's more than you'd care to think about You're no use to me dead I need you by my side and stuck to me

New Houses 03:11
We'll build a house We'll build a house and we'll make it better Than it was before We walked through walls This is how we'll leave here We can help ourselves if we want to And behind our eyes We have sold out for our families We're lost when you're gone And we'll be here We're lost when you're gone We could end up dead here On the news not national but local Leaving all we know And all we loved This is how we'll leave here On our own to make us better Than it was before We lived among the needy We're lost when you're gone And we'll be here We're lost when you're gone
5.
You're heading down a road you know With flashlights on and weapons drawn To harm yourself, protect yourself Don't harm yourself You're heading down a road you know With flashlights on and weapons drawn She thinks that I would cut her skin She thinks that I would let her in Your ignorance it makes me sick You load your guns before you think You drag the king in from his trail With all arms raised and TVs on We'll drag the killers from their beds Will hand them over to their dead They'll be no trial for these men, these men
6.
Won't you see Won't you see You're always looking through me You cut me out Won't you see Won't you see You're always looking through me You cut me out You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire Won't you leave Won't you leave You're always looking through me You cut me out You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire You're like me when I'm on fire Tell me now how does it feel To be dead from your neck to your knees? I swear this is the last time that I'll stand With my eyes fixed on you
7.
Our Bodies 04:12
Our bodies, look into our bodies Consider us and cover us in angel dust And we won't waste our lives Hollywood, we could live in Hollywood Or anywhere as long as we are safe and cared for And we won't waste our lives No we won't waste our lives You're what we came for Heroin, you could be my heroine Controlling me, forever more loving me And we won't waste our lives No we won't waste our lives You're what we came for They'll have to prise our bodies apart They'll have to prise They'll have to prise our bodies apart They'll have to prise
8.
We are your catalyst We are your nightmares We could start a riot We could start a riot We are your nightmares We could start a riot We could start a riot We're holding our hearts Like we have never before And I went into your house And stole all the pictures from the walls
9.
Warning Shot 04:04
A wiser man than me once said You can't lose something you never had Well that don't feel the same with you What he lost I don't quite know His wallet from his pocket gone? Well that don't feel the same with you I'm just firing a warning shot to you White flag goes up above my door Yeah I'm just firing a warning shot to you Grab your things and run away There was a man who spent his life at sea He hardly saw his family But that don't feel the same with you He lost his life with whom he shared His wife his kids For whom he cared Well that don't feel the same with you I'm just firing a warning shot to you White flag goes up above my door Yeah I'm just firing a warning shot to you Grab your things and run away

about

A Genuine Freakshow are seven individuals brought together in the Reading area from a desire to blend their love of the experimental with the melody and traditional songwriting prowess of the likes of band favorites Elbow, Mew and The National. The seven-piece have found their sweet spot, creating music that is intricate but unafraid of big melodies, as witnessed throughout the album and in particular on lead track, "I Can Feel His Heartbeats" and single "Hopscotch Machine Gun Madness".
