Chestnuts roasting on the fire top Children's signs read Santa stop Familiar scents that we forgot December daze The sound of church bells start to ring Everyone's out caroling We've all got a song to sing December daze, they're here again With family on our mind We'll be home on time Their gifts wrapped in ribbon unopened and new waiting beneath the tree The gift with my name on unravels with glee So Merry Christmas to me We watch snowflakes start to fall We build snowmen standing tall and don't forget to deck the hall December daze they're here again With family on our mind We'll be home on time Their gifts wrapped in ribbon unopened and new waiting beneath the tree The gift with my name on unravels with glee So Merry Christmas to me

River 04:12
It's coming on Christmas They're cutting down trees They're putting up reindeer And singing songs of joy and peace Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on But it don't snow here It stays pretty green I'm going to make a lot of money Then I'm going to quit this crazy scene Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on I wish I had a river so long I would teach my feet to fly I wish I had a river I could skate away on I made my baby cry He tried hard to help me You know, he put me at ease And he loved me so naughty Made me weak in the knees Oh, I wish I had a river I could skate away on I'm so hard to handle I'm selfish and I'm sad Now I've gone and lost the best baby That I ever had I wish I had a river I could skate away on Oh, I wish I had a river so long I would teach my feet to fly I wish I had a river I could skate away on I made my baby say goodbye It's coming on Christmas They're cutting down trees They're putting up reindeer And singing songs of joy and peace I wish I had a river I could skate away on

Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on your troubles will be out of sight, yeah Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the Yuletide gay From now on our troubles will be miles away Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together and If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bow And have yourself a merry little Christmas now Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bow And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Everybody's out playing in the snow but I'm sat here beside the fire 'cause you know I don't like the cold Everyone's out dancing in the street singing songs and carols, while the children are asleep but that's just not for me And just 'cause you're a little more festive than me doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good holiday so know, I want you to know Have yourself a merry happy jolly festive Christmas time You do yours the way you do, and I'll be fine the way I do mine Have yourself a merry happy jolly festive Christmas time I'll be drinking whiskey not wine So happy holidays, happy holidays Families gather round tellin' stories of old Reminiscing of the good times wearing festive hats of gold Don't forget these days we're always told And just because you're a little more festive than us doesn't mean we won't enjoy our time this Christmas so know, we want you to know Have yourself a merry happy jolly festive Christmas time You do yours the way you do, and I'll be fine the way I do mine Have yourself a merry happy jolly festive Christmas time I'll be drinking whiskey not wine So happy holidays, happy holidays Happy H-O-L-I-D-A-Y! So happy holidays! Happy H-O-L-I-D-A-Y-S!

Silent Night 02:34
Silent night, Holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin, mother and child Holy infant, so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace Silent night, Holy night Shepherds quake, at the sight Glories stream from heaven above Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah Christ the Savior is born Christ the Savior is born Silent night, Holy night Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord at thy birth Jesus, Lord at thy birth

about

Irish singer/songwriter Janet Devlin, who People Magazine claim will “knock your socks off”, will punctuate her tremendously eventful 2015 with the November 27 release of her December Daze EP on OK! Good Records. The holiday-themed EP, which will feature a pair of originals (“December Daze”, “Happy Holidays”), two traditional Christmas numbers “(Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, “Silent Night”) and a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “River” will follow up the Spring 2015 release of Devlin’s debut album, Running With Scissors.

Capturing an optimism and bliss that only the holiday season can produce, the title track “December Daze” was written last winter during Devlin’s first ever trip to New York City. “I'd gone for a walk in Central Park and it was covered in snow, reminding me of all the classic Christmas films that had been made there,” she remembers of the experience. “Back in my hotel, I sat on the 36th floor with my guitar player, with the view of Times Square in the background, watching people with their woolly hats and over-sized coats.”

Joined by a friskier, tongue-in-cheek, “Happy Holidays,” in which Devlin plays drums, percussion, ukulele, glockenspiel and vocal, December Daze’s duo of originals slot in flawlessly against the time honored holiday classics like “Silent Night”, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, and Joni Mitchell’s “River.”

As a memorable 2015 fades away, Devlin will enter the studio in early 2016 to begin work on her highly anticipated sophomore release.
