It’s like taking that first breath or taking that first step Dreaming that first dream finding out my voice can sing Like a first heartbeat or opening up my eyes Seeing the sunrise light an impossibly blue sky It’s like I’m waking up to a new brighter day And I will never understand how you got me feeling this way Cause I’ve been around the world Pulled down a million stars I’ve seen the dark side of the moon I’ve been the heartbreaker I’ve been the heartbroken So how can it be when I’m with you I’m an absolute beginner I’ve held a hand before some kind of love I’ve sworn Then I slowly watched those words lose their shine But never felt this kind of wonder never felt it pull me under And somehow lift me up at the same time It’s like I’m waking up to a new brighter day And I will never understand how you got me feeling this way Cause I’ve been around the world Pulled down a million stars I’ve seen the dark side of the moon I’ve been the heartbreaker I’ve been the heartbroken So how can it be when I’m with you I’m an absolute beginner It’s like I’m waking up to a new brighter day And I will never understand how you got me feeling this way Cause I’ve been around the world Pulled down a million stars I’ve seen the dark side of the moon I’ve been the heartbreaker I’ve been the heartbroken So what I say should not be true I’m an absolute beginner… With you

Sometimes I feel a shadow fall across my heart Sometimes the distance and the sadness is too hard And you try your best to reach me But I can’t reach back for you I know that I’m not easy when there’s just no getting through I’m sorry if I ever made you feel unsure Made you think I didn’t love you any more When I don’t know how to show it When my heart is trying to hide Darling can’t you see it in my eyes You are the light, you are the sun You are the one right thing when my whole world is wrong And through it all you still love me For the man I am and the man I want to be When my troubles weigh me down you take the weight Your love for me is like a bridge that never breaks And for all my faults and failings you can see a better man Somehow you still take me as I am You are the light, you are the sun You are the one right thing when my whole world is wrong And through it all you still love me For the man I am and the man I want to be You’re the northern star that guides me When the shoreline can’t be found You’re the one that understands me When the rain is coming down You are the light, you are the sun You are the one right thing when my whole world is wrong And through it all you still love me For the man I am and the man I want to be You are the light, you are the sun You are the spark of inspiration in my song And through it all you still love me For the man I am and the man I want to be For the man I am and the man I want to be

Oh, her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they're not shining Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying She's so beautiful And I tell her every day. Yeah, I know, I know when I compliment her, she won't believe me And it's so, it's so sad to think that she doesn't see what I see But every time she ask me do I look okay? I say When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change 'Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile The whole world stops and stares for a while 'Cause girl, you're amazing Just the way you are Her lips, her lips, I could kiss them all day if she'd let me Her laugh her laugh, she hates but I think it's so sexy She's so beautiful And I tell her everyday Oh, you know, you know, you know I'd never ask you to change If perfect's what you're searching for, then just stay the same So don't even bother asking if you look okay You know I'll say When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change 'Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile The whole world stops and stares for a while 'Cause girl, you're amazing Just the way you are The way you are The way you are Girl, you're amazing Just the way you are When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change 'Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile The whole world stops and stares for a while 'Cause girl, you're amazing Just the way you are

I still remember the girl who lived next door “Love Me Tender” was on the radio And I'm sure the road from now to then Is long and even when it all gets old The glamour and the gold and lies The call of fame doesn't sound so loud Above the vacant crowd How can you live with yourself When you're dying to be somebody else All I could give couldn't shatter the spell But I'll wait to bid a fond farewell I don't know why All we promised and all that disappeared Even through the darkness survived for all these years Here we are after all this time With nothing left to try How can you live with yourself When you're dying to be somebody else All I could give couldn't shatter the spell But I'll wait to bid a fond farewell How can you live with yourself When you wish that you were somebody else Here we are after all this time With nothing left to try How can you live with yourself When you're dying to be somebody else All I could give couldn't shatter the spell But I'll wait to bid a fond farewell How can you live with yourself When you wish that you were somebody else How can you live How can you live

Those places in my mind are never hard to find And where it all began Such golden memories I hope will never change A face of innocence The girl I asked to dance At only seventeen Though my show was soon undone I knew you were the one You don’t know me now But in some way, somehow Maybe there’s a moment you are mine So I hope you fall in love again each day Just like the first time I’ll never have too much Your smile your tender touch A thousand times a day But when the morning comes I’ll be the face you see As tides may ebb and flow Your thoughts may come and go But you are not alone Let’s live the here and now As long as the fates allow You don’t know me now But in some way, somehow Maybe there’s a moment you are mine So I hope you fall in love again each day Just like the first time I hope you fall in love again each day I’ll be there for you in every way So I hope you fall in love again each day Just like the first time

Photograph 04:14
Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes But it's the only thing that I know When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes It is the only thing makes us feel alive We keep this love in a photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts are never broken And time's forever frozen still So you can keep me Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home Loving can heal, loving can mend your soul And it's the only thing that I know, know I swear it will get easier Remember that with every piece of you Hm, and it's the only thing we take with us when we die Hm, we keep this love in this photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts were never broken And time's forever frozen still So you can keep me Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone And if you hurt me That's okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages you just hold me And I won’t ever let you go Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home Oh, you can fit me Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen Next to your heartbeat where I should be Keep it deep within your soul And if you hurt me Well, that's okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages you just hold me And I won’t ever let you go When I'm away, I will remember how you kissed me Under the lamppost back on Sixth street Hearing you whisper through the phone "Wait for me to come home"

The party’s all over They’ve turned down the lights They just gave the last call But we won’t say goodnight We’ll be leaving together Like we always do Even though we stumbled a time or two I’m glad I danced with you I stood beside you It was your turn to shine Through seasons of rain I was there all the time I grew old in your arms When others wanted to And even though we stumbled a time or two I’m glad I danced with you And we go ‘round and ‘round ‘round and ‘round, ‘round and ‘round Like lovers on a carousel Spinning through time You’re my Cinderella And you’ve always been If I could do it all over I’d do it again Even though we’ve stumbled a time or two And even though the Last Waltz is almost through I’m glad I danced with you The party’s all over The party’s all over And they’ve turned down the lights I’m glad I danced with you

Prodigal Son 03:32
I left in search of fame and fortune Blinded by the city lights Heartaches, Lord, I’ve had my portion In a way it serves me right Guess I had to learn my lesson This one thing I do believe No material possession Is worth more than Family Restless souls are prone to wander Mama leave the porch light on Cause the grass ain’t greener over yonder Now the prodigal son is coming home Let us sit down at the table Hear my Daddy say the Grace For these blessings we are so grateful Light our path show us the way Restless souls are prone to wander Mama leave the porch light on Cause the grass ain’t greener over yonder Now the prodigal son is coming home No the grass ain’t greener over yonder Now the prodigal son is coming home

When my song is done Will I miss the lonely spotlight when it's gone Will I morn the golden haze of the love you gave And all that I have been to you When the curtain falls And the final chord’s still ringing in the hall I can look back on my time without regret To know that this one thing is true I followed my heart I followed my heart Every single part I felt it all right from the start And I followed my heart I’m still a restless soul With a yearning in my heart that won’t grow old With a fire that will not fade with the dying sun A melody that leads me on There are roads I didn’t take Love I’ve lost and promises I had to break Will you forgive all that I did and didn’t do And please believe if I was wrong I followed my heart I followed my heart Every single part I felt it all right from the start And I followed my heart Sometimes long forgotten moments Appear like dancing silhouettes Not even love can last forever What love remembers time forgets My life has been a show It’s taken and it’s given everything I know But when I look back on the sad and the happy tears I wouldn’t want to change a thing Cause’ I followed my heart I followed my heart Every single part I felt it all right from the start And I followed my heart

Anytime I’m feeling lonely When time and space keep us apart When I miss the one who holds the key to my heart I play a love song, a special love song To make me feel alright I will give you all my loving Never wanna see you cry And when you hold me in your arms, babe All through the night We play a love song Our special love song Makes everything alright Let’s play a love song A special love song To get us through the night ‘Cause it’s those songs of love we remember That take the loneliness away And it’s those songs of love, sweet and tender Those old melodies bring back memories To tell us we will never part When we’re finally together And the lights are turned down low I will sit at my piano and let the feelings flow I’ll sing a love song Our special love song With a love that’s true I’ll sing a love song A special love song To say that I love you ‘Cause it’s those songs of love we remember That take the loneliness away And it’s those songs of love, sweet and tender Those old melodies bring back memories To tell us we will never part And keep the love that’s in our hearts

Crazy 03:10
I'm crazy Crazy for feeling so lonely Oh I'm crazy Crazy for feeling so blue I know you'd love me as long as you wanted Then someday leave me for somebody new Worry, why do I let myself worry? Wondering what in the world did I do? I'm crazy For thinking that my love could hold you I'm crazy for crying I'm crazy for trying I'm crazy for loving you I know you'd love me as long as you wanted Then someday leave me for somebody new Worry, why do I let myself worry? Wondering what in the world did I do? Crazy For thinking that my love could hold you And I'm crazy for crying I'm crazy for trying I'm crazy for loving you Yeah I said I'm crazy Oh so crazy I'm crazy For loving you

On Broadway 03:59
They say the neon lights are bright On Broadway They say there's always magic in the air But when you're walkin' down that street And you ain't have enough to eat The glitter rubs right off and you're nowhere They say the girls are something else On Broadway But lookin' at them just gives me the blues How ya gonna make some time When all you got is one thin dime And one thin dime won't even shine your shoes They say that I won't last too long On Broadway I'll catch the Greyhound bus for home they all say But they are wrong, I know they are 'Cause I can play this here guitar And I won't quit till I'm a star On Broadway they are wrong, I know they are 'Cause I can play this here guitar I won't quit till I'm a star On Broadway No I won't quit till I'm a star On Broadway No I won't quit till I'm a star On Broadway

about

Iconic careers don’t come any bigger than Engelbert Humperdinck’s. One would be hard pressed to find anyone who isn’t familiar with his multi-platinum selling hits such as “Release Me”, “The Last Waltz” or “After the Lovin'”. These and many other of his hits have contributed greatly to 150 million worldwide album sales by the “King of Romance”, as Engelbert is lovingly nicknamed by his legion of fans. Just having entered a new decade of his life, the very youthful Engelbert is also celebrating his 50th year in showbiz with the release of a brand new album The Man I Want to Be on November 24, 2017 via OK! Good Records. Not content with being a legacy artist, Engelbert demonstrates effortlessly with this album (his first album of original material in over a decade), that he is very much a relevant artist for today’s audiences as he has been over the last five decades of his career.

Doubling as a love letter to his wife Patricia of 53 years who is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, The Man I Want To Be presents the singer in a much more contemporary style and introspective mood, covering topics such as self realization (“The Man I Want To Be”, “I Followed My Heart”, “Absolute Beginner”), remorse (“How Can You Live”, “Prodigal Son”), and melancholic nostalgia (“Photograph”, “I’m Glad I Danced With You”). A collection of love songs crafted by stellar array of songwriters like Willie Nelson (“Crazy”), Jon Allen (“The Man I Want To Be”), Richard Scott (“Just Like The First Time”), Steve Mac (“Absolute Beginner”), Richard Marx and Fee Waybill (“How Can You Live”), it also includes two unexpected covers – Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph” and Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”, definite highlights of the album. Much more than simple cover versions Engelbert gives the songs a much deeper reading, lyrically and musically. Another unexpected surprise is a duet with his nine year old granddaughter Olivia, “I’m Glad I Danced With You,” a bittersweet ode dedicated to his wife Patricia.

The Man I Want To Be was produced by Jurgen Korduletsch and will be released on November 24, 2017 via OK! Good Records.
