Blood-stained porcelain
Crying on my own again
I'm better now, I'm better now
Once lost, never found
Thank God my thoughts don't make a sound
Cause I'm better now
But the truth won't come from empty lungs
But lies will come from everyone
Can you hear me now?
I'm better now
Glass bones, paper skin
Just ghosts within
I'm fading out, I'm fading out
Bruises on white
This is the spotlight going down
I'm fading out
But the truth won't come from empty lungs
But lies will come from everyone
Can you hear me now?
I'm better now
That all the world is moving on
And everything I've got is gone
Can you hear me now?
I'm better now
Can you hear me, can you hear me
Can you hear me screaming?
Can you hear me, can you hear me
Can you hear me lying?
But the truth won't come from empty lungs
But lies will come from everyone
Can you hear me now?
I'm better now
That all the world is moving on
And everything I've got is gone
Can you hear me now?
I'm better now

Cáillte gan stró
Caoineadh liom fhéin ach
Táim níos fearr anois, níos fearr anois
Poirceallán fuilsmeartha
Buíoch nach bhfuil mo smaointe ós ard
Mar táim níos fearr
Ní thiocfaidh’n fhírinne ó scamháin loma
s'beidh bréaga ag teacht ó achanduine
ach creid 's éist, táim níos fearr anois
Cnámha ag éirí lag
taibhsí ag teacht isteach
Táim gabhail in éag, ag gabhail in éag
Brúite le féiceáil ach
Soilse a bhí ann fágtha amach
oh, fagtha amach
Ní thiocfaidh’n fhírinne ó scamháin loma
s'beidh bréaga ag teacht ó achanduine
ach creid 's éist, táim níos fearr anois
tá an domhan ag Bogadh ar aghaidh
is achan rud ar shiúl ar strae
Ach créid is éist, táim níos fearr anois
An gcluin tú an gcluin tú
mé ag scairtigh
an gcluin tú an gcluin tú
bréaga mo chroí
Ní thiocfaidh’n fhírinne ó scamháin loma
s'beidh bréaga ag teacht ó achanduine
ach creid 's éist, táim níos fearr anois
tá an domhan ag Bogadh ar aghaidh
is achan rud ar shiúl ar strae

Northern Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin has announced the surprise drop of Versions of Better – an EP of alternative versions of her album’s poignant epilogue, “Better Now”. The EP announcement follows her stunning, cinematic music video that accompanies the original studio version. (youtu.be/qNKsy3Nwfzc)
“Versions of Better” consists of six reworkings of ‘Better Now’, each with a carefully curated sound and vision. A stripped-down live rendition, recorded and filmed in A&B2 Studios in London, opens the EP, followed by a mellow trance remix by Germany’s #1 electronica artist, Schiller (aka Christopher von Deylen). Next up, hand-picked string players are expertly arranged by award-winning composer Marco Hertenstein, and the final track before a duo of instrumentals sees Janet keeping her promise to record a Gaelic version of her favourite album track, with “Níos Fearr Anois” – a graceful translation which reconnects to her Irish heritage.
Says Janet of the EP; “Everyone has their own version of what ‘better’ might look like. What I consider ‘better’ may be considered a good day to some but a breakdown to others. Within my own mental health and recovery it could be something as simple as; ringing my therapist, cooking a meal or even just knowing that today it’s okay to stay in bed if the world doesn’t feel safe. Better looks different to all of us – it means that it’s not as bad as it once was.” A fitting sentiment for an intensely chaotic year.
